The metaverse is the internet you can walk around inside.

Instead of clicking through websites or scrolling through apps on a flat screen, you can actually be there. You move through 3D spaces. You talk to people. You do things as if you are present in that world.

Think of it as a collection of virtual worlds. You use an avatar to explore, create, play, work, and hang out with other real people.

The metaverse is more like a place you visit. You decide what to do. You might play games. You might attend a virtual concert. You might design a room. You might meet up with friends. You might learn something new. You might even work a job.
