Speech Generation
In this lesson, you will:
1. Generate speech from text and select details of the voice such as tone, stability and accent
2. Create different types of sound effects from classic music to animation sounds
Picture this: It’s late, you’re cramming for your English Literature test on “Romeo and Juliet,” and your eyes are drooping. Instead of struggling through another page, why not have AI read it to you? With ElevenLabs, you can transform any text into speech that sounds eerily human-like. Imagine hearing Shakespeare’s words in a voice that could be your favorite actor or even your cool English teacher!
Apart from English, you can also input different languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Spanish etc. You can also use the speech to speech function to transform audio clips.
There are a few other settings you can mess with, including stability, similarity and level of exaggeration.
- Higher stability ensures the voice is stable and does not break, but the tone will be more dull.
- Higher variable allows the AI to reach a greater range of intonation, making the speech more lively.
- High similarity ensures the pronunciation accuracy but sounds less natural. It also reduces the accent of the speaker. To sound more natural and increase the accent, choose a lower similarity.
Apart from generating speech, you can also generate sound effects in Elevenlabs. Choose sound effects on the left side menu and type a random prompt to get started. It can range from instruments to video games sound effect. You can specify the mood and atmosphere such as “suspense”, “tense”, “relaxed” to get your desired sound.
The most impressive function of Elevenlabs might be video dubbing or voiceover.
You can transform foreign movie clips into a language you are familiar with or spread your content to different communities all over the world.
- Step 1: Choose dubbing on the left hand side menu.
- Step 2: Then select a video source such as YouTube videos or TikTok reels. You may also upload your own video.
- Step 3: Select the source language and select the targeted languages.
- Step 4: Then click create and see the magic happen!
